My guide to chilling out (guilt free)!

We all know that everyone needs to rest sometimes. I mean, you literally need sleep to SURVIVE.

But in todays increasingly fast paced world, with so much going on, especially in teen and tweens lives... I think that we aren't getting enough downtime! And, when we do rest, we end up feeling really guilty about it!

So, unless you have to save the world right now (or submit an important assignment tomorrow morning that you haven't started...) here are my top tips for relaxing GUILT FREE.

1. Relax AFTER you tackle your to-do list

Yes, this tip goes against pretty much every point I made above. But, if you want to feel less guilty about resting, then this is the simplest way! If you've already tackled some work today, then you won't be spending all your downtime worrying about that English assignment due in the morning!

2. Make a relax time

If you are really busy all the time, this might be the tip for you. Set a time sometime in the evening, say 6PM, and then tell yourself, "from 6PM, it's rest time" and stick to it.

3. Do downtime screen free

I know when I have downtime, the number one guilt perpetrator is screens. I feel so disappointed in myself after I waste my downtime scrolling! So, instead lately I've been winding down to some music, and reading a book! Or folding some origami! Something relaxing, but something other than screens.

4. Chill with friends

I don't know why, but I always feel less guilty about relaxing all afternoon if I was on a call with my friends. Plus, they are always happy to give me origami advice lol.

And remember, take that chill time! You've earned it!
