DIY trials is going to be a mini blog series that I'll be posting on the Yass Tween blog that shows you my successful (and failed) DIYs and how I did them. The reason I'm doing this is that I'm currently decorating my room so I've been doing plenty of DIY projects. So without further ado, let's get started.
ORIGAMI BUTTERFLY TRAIL- 9/10
Yes, I stuck origami butterflies to my roof. And I swear it's one of my most genius ideas yet! As a butterfly LOVER this seemed like a great idea! I also love origami, and really wanted to learn how to do it.
HOW I MADE IT
For this DIY all you need is coloured paper and BluTack! It's actually really simple.
First, you'll need to fold some butterflies. I just searched up 'how to fold an origami butterfly' on YouTube, and just found my favourite one (https://youtu.be/z7YPQpM9Izo is the video I followed).
* you could probably draw or print them if you want to, but I recommend origami because it looks so cool and is 3D as well
Then, keep on folding! Use any colour scheme of your choice, I had to pick rainbow or else I would have never forgiven myself. I ended up using 40, but the amount might differ depending on how long you want your trail to be and how big your roof or wall is.
After that I just stuck BluTack to the back and arranged them on my roof! You could probably also use tape, but this was much more convenient. Also, I didn't measure anything when I did mine, I just winged it, but if I did it again I would definitely measure it haha.
9/10- This is definitely one of my fav DIYs ever! It's so adorable, and combines two of my favourite things- RAINBOWS and BUTTERFLIES! I mean who couldn't fall in love with it! It also makes my ceiling look so much less bland! But... the reason it lost the mark is because it took me quite a while to fold all of those butterflies and it was a challenge to reach my roof to put them all up, so it's not that convenient. But I love it ☺️
Let me know if you like this and comment any suggestions for my next DIY!
Love ya'll
